Defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns continued their domination of the Hollywoodbets Super League this weekend.
Andisiwe Mgcoyi scored a brace as Sundowns Ladies defeated Durban Ladies 3-0 in the Hollywoodbets Super League on Sunday at the Giant stadium. The other goal was scored by Lelona Daweti.
The win firmly consolidates Sundowns’ position at the top of the log with 58 points from 20 matches. Jerry Tshabalala’s charges have now racked up 70 goals while conceding just nine. Meanwhile Mgcoyi is now joint top goal scorer with Nthabiseng Majiya of Richmond United with 18 goals.
The loss for Durban Ladies means they remain third from bottom with 19 points from 20 encounters. In other results Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) showed no mercy when they thrashed last placed Tsunami Queens 4-0 in Harrismith. TUT moved to second position with 40 points from 19 matches, while the Queens remain at the foot of the table with eight points from 23 games.
Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies rose to fifth spot on the standings with their 2-1 victory over Golden Ladies at Siwelele Park. Celtic now have 32 points in 22 outings while Golden Ladies are second from bottom with 15 points from the same number of matches.
Thunderbirds Ladies and University of Johannesburg (UJ) played to a 1-1 stalemate in the Eastern Cape. The result leaves Thunderbirds in seventh position on the log with 29 points from 20 matches while UJ maintain ninth place with 24 points from 22 games.
