Kaizer Chiefs forward Bernard Parker has come under pressure from the Amakhosi faithful in recent weeks, but new coach Gavin Hunt is looking to get the best out of him.
The Glamour Boys are unable to refresh their squad due to their transfer ban, which will leave Hunt to rely on his current squad, and youngsters coming through.
Although Parker has not been top of the list for many fans in regards to who they want to see on the pitch, Hunt had some high praise for Die Hond.
“I mean he’s been a model professional, he adds a lot of value to the club and us playing,” Hunt told Velile Myandu, in his exlclusive interview with iDiski Times.
“All I’ve got to do is to get the best out of him as long as he can, wrap him up where we can and bring him up when we need him, and right now we do need him.
“His experience rubs off on a lot of these young boys you mentioned, his professionalism after training, doing extra like this morning we did, every day we do extra training with him.
“And hopefully we can get that mentality into the team and hopefully go forward. As I said they did extremely well last year, unbelievably well with what they had, and we need to try and see if we can maintain it and go forward.”
