Hunt – Why I Laughed During Simba Drubbing

Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt was seen laughing on the bench during his side’s 4-0 thrashing of Simba S.C. on Saturday and later explained what had caused his reaction.

The 56-year-old hasn’t had much to laugh this campaign, in particular in the DStv Premiership where Amakhosi have won just two of their last 15 games.

However, on Saturday, Hunt was all smiles after Leonardo Castro scored Chiefs fourth goal in the impressive outing over the Tanzanian giants and he later explained what caused his smiles.

“Because 10 seconds or 15 seconds before that I said what we need to do and the things we work on, and where we need to be without the ball, and then we turned the ball over, we were in the right position, and the goal game,” he said in his post-match press conference.

“So that’s why I laughed because it was pretty much [perfect]. You don’t get that much in football, but you know, it was from an organization point of view, out of possession, because I knew when we turned it over, that we’ll get a situation like that.

“And it worked out so sometimes things do work out, ja I laughed.”

Chiefs will face Simba in the return leg in Dar es Salaam on Saturday, 15:00 SA time.
