‘I Couldn’t Believe I Was Training With Yeye’

One of the young DStv Premiership stars has opened up on being star struck the first time he met former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Reneilwe ‘Yeye’ Letsholonyane.

Ethan Brooks made his debut in the DStv Premiership this season and won his first international appearance at last year’s COSAFA U20 Youth Championship.

The 19-year-old is part of a TS Galaxy side, who climbed in eighth spot on the log, starting the last four games for his side.

He spoke exclusively to iDiski Times‘ writer Lethabo Kganyago about his breakout campaign and his Bafana ambitions.

Brooks, though, also never hid his admiration for former Chiefs midfielder Yeye, who joined the club from Highlands Park in September, and told Kganyago how felt when he first met the 38-year-old.

“I couldn’t believe it, you know, that I’m here at training, training with Yeye Letsholonyane was just unbelievable,” he said.

“It has been a great experience this whole time. He is someone I look at, I’ve been looking up to. Yoh, being able to play with him, train with him, has been a great experience.

“You know I’m learning just from watching him also being able to speak to him about football stuff that really helps.”

Galaxy are in action on Wednesday when they travel to Durban to take on Golden Arrows.

You can read the complete Broos interview as well as many other great features and exclusives, including Rulani Mokwena talking on Pitso Mosimane and Jose Mourinho, why Chiefs could turn to Stuart Baxter as well as an interview with Matome Mathiane, in this week’s iDiski Times – available in English and Zulu.
