Jomo Turns To Argentina
GladAfrica Championship side Jomo Cosmos have signed a young Argentinian striker ahead of the 2021/2022 season.
Reports coming from Argentina have confirmed that 22-year-old Lucas Fernández will play for Esenkosi this season.
The young striker, who is able to able play across the front-three was born in Quines, San Luis, and has spent most of his career at Independent Rivadavia, joining the club as a 13-year-old junior.
“It is a great step in my career. I hope it goes well for me to be able to take another leap in quality,” Fernández was quoted as saying by ElDiaroDeLaRepublica.
“A very large company of representatives saw me play, when they found out that I was free, they offered me this chance for South Africa, we agreed very quickly and on Wednesday or Thursday I am traveling to join and meet my new teammates.
“This transfer comes to me at a good time. I am at the right age to give this balance of quality.
“I know very little about the club. The manager is Jomo Sono, who is a well-known figure in South Africa. It will be a matter of doing my homework well to win a place and have many minutes on the pitch.”
Fernández is expected to join up with his new club as soon as possible.
