Kerr Believes Chiefs Will Beat Simba
Tshakhuma Head Coach Dylan Kerr, who coached Tanzanian giants Simba six years ago, has backed Kaizer Chiefs to beat his former team in the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.
Kerr was speaking after his team’s dramatic last-minute winner against a ten man Chiefs on Tuesday.
It was the former Black Leopards and Baroka coach’s first win over Gavin Hunt, and while delighted to get that victory, Kerr feels that if Chiefs focus on the Champions League going forward they’ll do well.
The Malta-born coach feels despite the many difficulties the former Bidvest Wits coach has at Chiefs, they can beat Simba, who Kerr coached in 2015.
“But, you know, personally, that’s my first win against Gavin Hunt,” Kerr told the club’s media department after the win.
“I feel for him, he’s got a very, very tough job. He’s got lots of games, he’s got CAF, which I think is more important now, than trying to get into the top eight.”
“I believe that they’ll beat Simba. But you know, he’s got a tough call because one player is suspended now, his goalkeepers have been injured, so he’s got a very, very tough call.”
Chiefs will host Simba in South Africa on 14 May before traveling to the Tanzania giants on a week later.
