Kerr Strongly Disappointed With Swallows Loss

Dylan Kerr has insisted that Swallows, who are fighting to get out of the relegation zone, did not deserve to lose in their DStv Premiership encounter with TS Galaxy.

The Birds slumped to their first loss this year in all competitions, losing 1-0 against the Rockets at Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday, and are now 15th on the DStv Premiership table.

While Kerr was disappointed with the result, he felt that his side was unlucky to lose against Galaxy, who are also fighting to avoid the relegation axe—and pointed out what led them to lose the game.

“Football’s about decisions, I have to make decisions when I picked the team, and I pick the team on what I have seen in the previous game,” Kerr told SuperSport TV.

“When I picked the team, we had to make a force change with captain Cheeseboy (Mokoena), we replaced him.

“When I’m not on the football field, the decisions have got to be made correctly by the players and I think every time we went forward, every time we go into the opposition, especially in around the box, our decision-making was terrible.

“I mean, right at the end there, you put the ball in the box, you don’t try to flick a ball through, Monnapule (Saleng) gets the ball, one need to pass the ball wide, sort of taking it down, and then trying to create something, he tries to play a wonder volley into the box.

“We’ve been around the penalty area, we’ve made the wrong decisions. When I see what they’re doing training every single day is exactly how we play on a match Day.

“Today was terrible, terrible from everybody. Our decisions in and around the right areas were wrong and that’s what’s costed us again Stellenbosch, it nearly cost us against TS Sporting in the cup, but we’re doing things right in the training field.”
