Kerr: What Mourinho Told Me Before Nedbank Final
TTM coach Dylan Kerr has revealed what Jose Mourinho told him ahead of Saturday’s Nedbank Cup final-triumph over Chippa United.
The 54-year-old guided Tshakuma Tsha Madzivhandila to their first ever trophy after beating Chippa United 1-0 in the final.
Kerr already revealed before the clash that he had received a special message of support from none other than Mourinho.
The former Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Manchester United and most recently Tottenham Hotspur boss did a coaching course with Kerr in the past and the duo have stayed in touch.
“When I did my SFA coaching badge at Largs Jose Mourinho was on the same course and we’ve kept in touch through email,” Kerr told the The Scottish Sun.
“I sent him a message [last week] telling him we were in the final and he sent one back saying, ‘Come on, I wish you the best and take the cup home.’”
TTM beat SuperSport United, Swallows FC, Black Leopards and Mamelodi Sundowns on their way to the final.
It was Kerr’s first cup trophy, as a coach, in South Africa.
