Khune Rubbishes Retirement Reports
Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune has rubbished reports he could retire if Kaizer Chiefs would win the the CAF Champions League.
The 34-year-old has made just 18 appearances this season and was on the bench during Amakhosi’s 1-0 first-leg victory at Wydad Casablanca.
A report had claimed that Khune would be ready to hang up his boots in case Chiefs would win the continental crown because he would have won everything in his career with Amakhosi.
However, he took to social media to label those reports as “fake news”.
Khune has made over 300 appearances for Chiefs in his career so far, but his 2020/21 season was disrupted by injuries.
He is expected to remain on the bench for the Glamour Boys in the second leg against Wydad, with Bruce Bvuma set to start following his first-leg heroics.
