Komphela Responds To Fallout Rumours
Steve Komphela has responded to rumours that there had been a fallout between Mamelodi Sundowns’ coaching trio.
A report in Soccer Laduma claimed that the three Downs coaches, Manqoba Mngqithi, Rulani Mokwena and Komphela “aren’t seeing eye to eye”, citing reliable sources close to the club.
Komphela, who works as senior coach alongside co-head coaches Mokwena and Mngqithi, has taken to social media via his verified twitter account to dismiss the rumours, calling them “nonsense”.
“Each time you read anything, ‘consider the source’. This is a huge lead to truth or fiction. My character, upbringing and perspective is of prospective solidarity, maturity and unity. Divide and rule is old school, for non-thinkers. I’m extremely conscious and reasonably rational,” he wrote on social media.
“My self esteem and ego are relevantly in tact. During my playing days, even coaching career, I’ve never had any issues even with my worst enemies. How this could start now, is known by the liars only. I’m very comfortable with myself. I don’t seek myself from others. Nonsense!
“This desperate agenda had been there from day1. It just needed a brave idiot. The notion that black people cannot work together must be destroyed completely. Our people/writers need to help us and not spread nonsense lies furthering the agenda of their handlers. With me, FORGET!”
Sundowns return to action on Sunday when they will face Kaizer Chiefs in the DStv Premiership.
