Larsen Delighted For Dynamos

A delighted Clinton Larsen was full of praise for his Summerfield Dynamos team after the side from the ABC Motsepe leagues beating GladAfrica Championship outfit Uthongathi to book a spot in the Nedbank Cup last 16.

Mcedi Vandala scored the only goal of the game for Larsen’s men to advance.

Dynamos are currently top of the KZN ABC Motsepe Stream A league, and a win in their next game would see them win the stream.

Larsen says the league is the bigger picture, but if they want to get promoted to the professional ranks, teams like Uthongathi are who they are going to face.

“There’s a bigger picture for us and that’s the league,” Larsen told SuperSport after the momentous win.

“But this just gives us the platform to build on what we’ve been trying to achieve this season.

“We’ve got an important game on Wednesday, should we win that we win our stream. So this type of performance is going to give them a lot of confidence.

“I said to them before the game that if you want to get promoted to the NFD, this is the type of opposition you’ll be up against, so we’ve got to go pound for pound with them, and I think we gave a good account of ourselves.

“In the second half, we sat back a little bit more than we would have liked, but psychologically, that’s always a challenge. We try to get them 20, 30 metres higher, and it just didn’t come to fruition, but I’m really proud of them.

“I keep saying it’s a special project we’re building here. And I just want to give a mention to our chairman and his family who have been so supportive to our club.

“This one is for him and the people of Chatsworth, we hope that they relish this moment.”
