Mamelodi Sundowns defender Mosa Lebusa says it was a nice surprise hearing he had been called up to the Bafana Bafana squad for this month’s Afcon qualifiers against Ghana and Sudan.
Lebusa, has bounced back from a few injury niggles this season, was speaking from camp in the DRC where Sundowns are preparing to take on TP Mazembe in the CAF Champions League this weekend.
Lebusa is one of six Sundowns players called up by Molefi Ntseki.
Kermit Erasmus, Themba Zwane, Thapelo Morena, Rivaldo Coetzee and Andile Jali are the other five players
The former Ajax Cape Town defender only has six caps for his country, despite having made his debut all the way back in 2015.
“I am excited, it is always an honour to represent the country, funny enough I heard the news from my teammates as we are in camp, it came as a surprise to me I must say,” Lebusa told Sundowns’ website.
“Every player that has been selected deserves to be there as they are the best players for the country at the moment.”
