Lentjies Aims For Second Win

Chippa United stand-in coach Kurt Lentjies says they are ready to face Golden Arrows in the DStv Premiership on Saturday.

Lentjies will be looking for his second win after he took charge following the suspension of head coach Gavin Hunt last month.

In his first game, he guided the Chilli Boys to secure a hard-fought 1-0 win over Baroka, and is now aiming to continue with the winning run.

The Chilli Boys are 13th on the log, with only 10 points after they played 11 games this season so far.

“Obviously, the mood is good in the camp, we’re only looking back to our last game, which was obviously a positive result, the mood has been good,” he told club’s media department.

“We don’t want to go into the break, not having a positive result. So, things have been good. Well-prepared for the game, looking forward to playing tomorrow.

“Not only would be our approach the way that we want to play, we are aware of the threat that they pose. So, we’ve been working on that during the week. So, the plan is clear.

“It’s crucial (points) I mean, we’re playing at home as well, but I told the guys whether playing at home or away every match is crucial for us to get three points. So, we’ll set up to get three points for every single match that we play.

“Injury updates, still the same Lubeni (Haukongo)is injured, so there’s not much, we have got basically a full squad to choose from.”

The Port Elizabeth-based club will battle for the three with Abafana Bes’thende at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium this afternoon at 15:30.
