Letsoalo Confirms Royal AM Future
Bafana Bafana striker Victor Letsoalo has ended speculation around his future after missing the opening game of this season.
The 28-year-old was included in Hugo Broos’ Bafana Bafana squad despite failing to start a game for Royal AM after they bought the PSL status of Bloemfontein Celtic.
He wasn’t in the squad for Royal AM’s DStv Premiership opener but came on off the bench for the second game, which has spurred rumours he could still leave the club the this window after Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates were reportedly interested.
However, Letsoalo has now ended speculation around his future, saying he will not move clubs.
“I was training, I just wasn’t selected for the first game,” he told Kick Off.
“I’m going to stay with the club. I’m very excited going into this season, I want to play regularly like I did last season at Bloemfontein Celtic. It’s important to get that game time to score goals.
“I’m looking forward to being in the Bafana squad [too], it shows I have the potential to compete with the best players in the country. It gives me confidence going into the new season, I just have to apply myself well going forward.
“I don’t want to speak about the offers that were made, I just want to focus on my football now, it’s a new season for everyone and I need to start over.”
Last season, Letsoalo scored 11 goals in 32 appearances for Bloem Celtic in all competitions. He also won the Golden Boot at the recent Cosafa Cup, with his impressive performances earning him a recall to the national team.
