After his heroics for Mamelodi Sundowns last season, Keletso Makgalwa is excited about the start of Nedbank Cup action, but says their first opponents, Stellenbosch are always tough opponents.
Sundowns won the cup last year under Pitso Mosimane, and will be looking to defend their title.
But Makgalwa warns that Stellenbosch will be a tricky hurdle.
“Once we saw the fixture was out and saw that we are playing Stellenbosch, we knew it would be a difficult one,” Makgalwa told the club’s website.
“Every time they play against us they give 150%.”
“We are up for the challenge and hopefully, we come out victorious.”
Last season Makgalwa was one of Sundowns’ cup heroes as he scored twice in the build-up to the final. He went on to win the Nedbank Cup Most Promising Player at the PSL’s annual awards.
“The Cup will always be special not only for me but also for the upcoming players, as the youngsters are allowed to showcase their talent through the Ke Yona team”.
“I appreciate every moment I spend on the field, I want to achieve more than what I did last season and hope to score more goals this time around.”
