Makhubedu – I’m Happy For My Boys

Sekhukhune United head coach Macdonald Makhubedu praised his team after their 2-0 win over AmaZulu in the DStv Premiership on Wednesday, and how they stuck to the plan.

Usuthu had a tough schedule this past week, having just returned from the DRC where they knocked TP Mazembe out of the CAF Champions League, to qualify for the group stages of the continental showpiece.

Makhubedu was pleased with his team’s performance, and says they knew that with AmaZulu’s tight schedule, it was something they could take advantage of.

“Ja, we played against AmaZulu and we knew their schedule was a little bit congested,” Makhubedu said after the game.

“Remember, they came from Lubumbashi in Congo on Wednesday. They had to come back to Joburg.

“We knew that if we keep the ball and try to open them up and be compact without it, we will do better. But I’m happy for my boys, with and without the ball.

“We did well, we worked for each other. We wanted to win, and we got to win and I’m happy, I’m happy, and tough luck for Coach Benni and his team.”
