Chippa United Head Coach Dan Malesela says that their opponents in the Nedbank Cup on Sunday, Cape Town City, ‘play with knowledge of what they’re doing.’
Malesela is expecting an open game on Sunday, which is the first of a double header against City, as they play the same opponents in the league three days later.
Sunday’s match is at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, and Malesela says it should be an interesting match up.
“We have to plan properly for Cape Town City because they are a ball playing side they are an exciting side as well,” Malesela told the media in the build up to Sunday’s game.
“They keep doing well in the league, so we approach this match with due respect and cautiously so as well.”
“Ja, like I mentioned earlier, very exciting team, you know, a team that, with no disrespect to other teams, but, they play with knowledge of what they’re doing, and we have to try and match that.
“But also they have to try to match us because we are also trying to get ourselves to understanding what we’re doing, you know, when we play we need to have a purpose and and know why we do things.”
“I think it will be an exciting match because football will be played, none of the sides kicks the ball forward. So I am looking forward to a good game.”
