TS Galaxy coach Dan Malesela says playing against champions Mamelodi Sundowns is never easy.
Galaxy take on Sundowns on Tuesday evening in a DSTV Premiership match, scheduled for Loftus.
While many thought the match could be postponed due to the passing of Motjeka Madisha, the match is still on the schedule.
Malesela says that he would like to finish 2020 off with positive results, as Galaxy face two tough opponents in Sundowns and Cape Town City before the year end.
“It is going to be a very difficult match considering that these are the league champions. But we have to put that aspect of respect aside,” Malesela told the club’s website
“When you are competing in the same league, you have to put that aside and match each other. That’s what we will be doing. Knowing how Sundowns play, it will be an open game. On the day, the better team will win. We are really expecting a tough encounter.”
“If you start thinking about drawing, playing not to lose away from home or sitting back, it is going to be a problem, you may lose some of the valuable points that you would have collected.”
“As the season grows teams become stronger and stronger. Opposition teams will become wiser. You sometimes rely on luck which is what sometimes you don’t like. “
“We want to build as early as possible so that by the time the season hot up, the team has gelled. You just worry about the break that we will have during the Christmas period. It has been there and it is there for everybody.”
“We need to collect as much points as possible. If we can get some point now in the two matches that are coming up. It is all good. If you get six or four points for me, it is fine. We have that big block that is coming in January. We will be playing crazy, crazy matches in January.”
“You don’t need to pressure yourself with those matches. At least go in to the break with some relief or some comfort. We want to go in to the break with confidence.” Â
