Maritzburg United assistant coach Maahier Davids believes that while they must respect Kaizer Chiefs ahead of the DStv Premiership clash on Wednesday, he feels if they can put more effort, they can come out with a positive result.
With the team coming from a loss to Chippa United in the league on Sunday afternoon, Davids says they have done good homework and prepared ahead of Wednesday’s game.
Davids, has also spoken about how they want to approach Amakhosi, saying they will have to figure out their opponents’ weaknesses to win the match.
The Team of Choice couldn’t win any game in their last nine matches, but managed to accumulate five points through draws, while losing the other four matches.
“We played Chiefs about a month back, I don’t think we deserved to lose that game. We deserve something out of the game,” Davids told club’s media department.
“We take the confidence knowing that we can compete and that we can get something out of the game. Today it’s about recovery recuperating, and of course analyzing our strength what we did well in the last game and of course try to pinpoint one or two weaknesses in Kaiser Chiefs lineup.
“They have, of course, changed the structure now, playing more with three defense lines since the mini break where the Covid-19 outbreak they’ve had.
“We have to look and find the spaces where we can explore, and hopefully the guys are recovered fully and go full steam ahead in the off strong.”
The Team of Choice will travel to Soweto on Wednesday to face Amakhosi in the DStv Premiership at FNB Stadium at 19:30.
