Maritzburg Confirm Four Leaving
Maritzburg United have confirmed the names of four players who will not be returning to the club for the 2021/2022 season.
The Team of Choice first confirmed that goalkeeper Jethren Barr’s contract had come to end, while they had opted not take the options to renew for Kwanda Mngonyama and New Zealander Daniel Morgan.
The club further confirmed that Serbian Dusan Stevic, who only joined mid-season, would also be leaving.
“We would like to extend our sincere well wishes to Kwanda, Daniel, Jethren and Dusan for their future endeavours,” Chairman Farook Kadodia said on the club’s website.
“Jethren’s contract had come to an end and we decided to release him.
“With Daniel and Kwanda, we elected not to take up options to extend their stays.
“We would like to thank the four for their hard work and commitment in the club’s cause, which has been much appreciated and valued.”
The club went on to say they were still in negotiations with a few other players, so there may be more announcements in the future
