Maritzburg Manager, Jettoo, Leaves The Club After 16 Years Of Service

Maritzburg United Football Operations manager Quintin Jettoo, who was one of the brilliant minds in the administration work after close to two decades at the club, has left the Team of Choice after 16 years of service.

Jetto sent a farewell message to iDiski Times, having seen all highs and lows at the club, but it was relegated at the end of last season to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Club chairman Farook Kadodia said it will be almost impossible to keep the entire staff because the grant money they will receive from the Motsepe Foundation Championship won’t cater to everyone on the side.

He said those who are interested to stay will have to apply for the job but the salary won’t be the same.

This is a huge blow to Maritzburg’s attempt to come back as they never once found themselves on the wrong side of the law in the PSL as he knew the PSL rules and registration by the palm of his hands.

“Today is a day that I never envisaged would come when I say my goodbyes,” said Jettoo in the statement.

“To the chairman and the Board of Directors, I would like to thank you for the opportunity and responsibility you entrusted me with for the past 16 years.

“I am truly humbled to have served this amazing football club, whilst growing to become the man I am today.

“To all the coaches and technical staff over the 16 years it was an absolute privilege to work with each and every one of you and thank you for every moment we spent together.

“To the many players that I have had the privilege of being a part of your journey, I hope I have affected each and every one of you in a small way that allowed many of you to transition from young boys into the professional men you have become today. Keep aspiring in your lives to be great human beings.

“To the management and staff, who must have become a second family, I wish you guys all the very best today and in the future.  I will always be part of you guys no matter where our journeys take us.

“To the MUFC Supporters (Blue Army) you inspired this team in the good and bad times and your love for this team is unwavering and inspiring to each and every one of us.

“Keep supporting the team and help take them back to where they belong. Without you guys Friday nights would never have been possible.

“Goodbye is never easy, however in life, every journey has a start and an END. THANK YOU, TEAM, OF CHOICE.”

Before joining Maritzburg, Jettoo was at Manning Rangers from 1997 until 2004.
