Maritzburg Sign French Striker
Maritzburg United have announced another new signing ahead of the 2021/2022 DStv Premiership season.
The Team of Choice begin their league campaign on Saturday when they face Golden Arrows at the Princess Magogo Stadium.
Amadou Soukouna is the eleventh confirmed signing this season for Ernst Middendorp’s team.
Soukouna is a former French youth international, who while born in Paris, is of Malian descent.
The 29 year old, who began his career at Toulouse, is a well travelled player, having last played in Israel for Hapoel Kfar-Saba, his second club in the country. Apart from in France, he has also played for clubs in Bulgaria.
“I feel good to be playing for this team and hope that it’s good for everyone – the chairman, the club, the coach and for my team-mates,” Soukouna told the Maritzburg United media department.
“Now I’m here to experience another challenge, another football culture, so I’m excited for it and ready. I have a good feeling with the coach and training has been going well, I hope to keep it like this.”
