Cape Town City fullback Terrence Mashego says they are ready to welcome Maritzburg United for their DStv Premiership clash on Wednesday.
Seventh-placed City know they will face a tough challenge against Maritzburg, who are in the fight to avoid finishing in the relegation zone, but Mashego says City are targeting maximum points.
The former TS Galaxy player says City are also trying to end the season on a high, and want to ensure they finish safely in the top eight.
“The training session has been going very well,” Mashego said in the build up to the game.
“The guys are prepared and well rested. We managed to recover from the traveling and the game that we had against Bloemfontein Celtic.”
“So the guys mentally and physically prepared. You could tell by the mood at training that everyone is ready. And looking forward to this amazing game. We playing Maritzburg, it’s our home game, and we need to dominate, we need to collect maximum points.”
“We also need to secure a place in the top eight, so we have to make sure that we win this one. Maritzburg has been doing very well as a team, their last previous five games, they managed to collect seven points and they’re now sitting at number 12 with 28 points.”
“They’re also trying to save themselves from relegation. So we know that it’s not going to be an easy game. So we have to fight and make sure that we collect maximum points.”
