Cape Town City left back Terrence Mashego says that they need to collect maximum points when they host Kaizer Chiefs in the DStv Premiership on Tuesday.
The Bafana Bafana international says that while City lost to Royal AM in the Nedbank Cup, they didn’t play badly, and they need to build from that performance against Chiefs, who also lost their cup game on the weekend.
The 25-year-old says Chiefs are a good team, but believes that City should target maximum points with this being their home game.
“We’re playing at home so we have to collect maximum points, considering that we just lost the game in the Nedbank Cup,” Mashego said in the build-up to the game.
“So now it’s time for us to shift the focus to the league and make sure that we find ourselves in a better position.
“I know Kaizer Chiefs is a strong side, they have a strong team, and it’s not an easy team to beat.
“But we have to make sure that we collect maximum points because we’re playing at home, it’s our home game.
“Going to this game we just have to build up from the game that we had on Saturday.
“We lost, but we didn’t have a bad game at all, I mean we played very well, we just need to convert our chances and also make sure that defensively we don’t concede goals.”
