Matlaba – It’s Not Personal

Thabo Matlaba says there is nothing personal when Swallows FC play his former team Black Leopards in the DSTV Premiership this weekend.

Matlaba joined Swallows at the start of this season, having spent last year at Lidoda Duvha, after leaving Orlando Pirates, where he had played for 8 seasons.

Swallows have surprised many this season, the 2019/2020 Glad Africa Championship winners are still unbeaten after their promotion, and are currently second on the table.

“Ja, it’s not going to be an easy game to be honest, they’re not the same team as last season, a better team since the new coach came in, so I can see they’re doing better,” Matlaba told Swallows media.

“We facing a very difficult game, but we know what we want, we only want the three points away from home, that’s what we want.”

Matlaba says there’s nothing personal about facing the team he was at last season.

“For me there it’s not personal, it’s just a game like any game, so going there I’ve just got to play my game, and help my teammates where I can, with information about Leopards but all I know is we are going there to win the game.”

Leopards host Swallows at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
