Mngonyama Promises Improvement

Maritzburg United Defender Kwanda Mngonyama has promised the club’s fans that results will improve.

The Team of Choice has had the worst possible start to the new season, having been knocked out of the MTN8 by Kaizer Chiefs and then losing all their three matches in the DStv premiership. These results have led to discontent amongst the club’s fans, with some questioning the future of coach Eric Tinkler.

To be fair to Tinkler, the season in only four games in and he is, after all, the man who rescued the club two seasons ago by helping them survive relegation through the play-offs before securing seventh position last season.

Former Sundowns defender, Mngonyama, addressed the club’s fans by saying:

“The boys are training very well and you could see and feel that they are working hard as a team. All I can say is that happy days are coming and we are looking forward to getting the first three points for the blue army.”

Maritzburg take on fellow strugglers Black Leopards on 21 November in a clash of the two winless clubs in the league.
