Mngqithi – For Sundowns Its Always Two Points Dropped
While Manqoba Mngqithi says Mamelodi Sundowns dropped two points in their goalless draw against Golden Arrows, he says he is happy the log leaders didn’t lose the DStv Premiership match, and kept a clean sheet.
Sundowns are top of the league, one point ahead of second-placed AmaZulu, though the Brazilians do have two games in hand. Arrows are third, five points off the leaders.
Mngqithi says any time Sundowns don’t win it is points dropped, as his team has the quality to beat anyone, and he feels that he had their chances to win the game.
“For Sundowns it’s always two points dropped because in as much as we emphasise how good they are, how quick they are, but at the end of the day, we’ve got more quality,” Mngqithi said in the post match presser.
“We we should be able to wrap games maybe earlier when we know what we might not have the same tank that the opponents we’re playing against have.”
“But truth be told again in as much as you did not win this one, you’re saying it’s okay because I could have easily have lost this match and this thing would have been totally different by now.”
“So at this stage, I’m still happy that we managed to make sure that we keep a clean sheet against a team that is free scoring and we managed or to lose this this match and for me that was very important.”
