Mngqithi – They Are No Pushovers

Mamelodi Sundowns co-head coach Manqoba Mngqithi has warned that SuperSport United will not be pushovers, when the two teams meet in a DStv Premiership Tshwane derby on Wednesday.

Sundowns will look to bounce back after their CAF Champions League exit, but Mngqithi warns that while sixth-placed SuperSport haven’t had the best of seasons, they are a very dangerous side.

While Sundowns will win the league if they win the game, SuperSport are still capable of a top three finish, but would need a victory in this game to really stand a chance.

“They may not be in a favourable position but the truth of the matter is they have won their last match,” Mngqithi told the club’s media department.

“They are coming back again now, they are showing very good signs, they are very decent team, Grobler is still the top goal scorer, Mbule has had a wonderful season, Lungu is proven to be very handy on counter attacks.

“And of late they’ve decided to play Mahachi and Phillips as the fullbacks and both those fullbacks are very quick and are always looking to climb up and SuperSport score a lot of goals from crosses, from shots outside the box, Mbule has got a shot outside the box, Grobler outside the box, Mokoena outside the box and Webber, they have also scored some tremendous goals.

“So we we know very well we are not playing a team that is a pushover and Ronwen Williams has come back again and now they are looking like a team that really wants to launch a potential comeback into the top eight. And that makes this game very important for both football teams.”
