Manqoba Mngqithi says that Mamelodi Sundowns have done their homework ahead of their DSTV Premiership game against Golden Arrows.
The two unbeaten teams meet on Saturday at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.
However while Sundowns have won five of their seven games, and are top of the table, Arrows have five draws, and are six points behind in sixth spot.
While Mngqithi admits there has no been much time for training ahead of this game, he feels they are suitably prepared, and have studied their opponents well.
“We understand their strengths, we understand their limitations, we have to try and mitigate their strength of a counter attack, their strength of a break attack, and some times they can press you from the top, they have the right physical attributes to press you from the top,” Mngqithi said to the Sundowns media department.
“They have very quick players, very aggressive players, and it’s a well coached team you can see. Mandla (Ncikazi) and Mabhuti (Khenyeza) are doing a top job there.”
Mngqithi says they won’t take Arrows for granted.
“We’re not playing a small team here‚ we’re playing a team that has not lost a game in seven matches.”
“And in fact they’ve been unfortunate in some matches to have had draws because they create a lot of scoring opportunities from their breaks and counter attacks.”
“So that’s the team we’re playing and we know what is expected of us as Sundowns.”
