Mothwa – Benni’s Words Left Me In Tears

AmaZulu goalkeeper Veli Mothwa, who was named the DStv Premiership Player of the Month for March/April, got a little emotional hearing his coach Benni McCarthy talk about his achievement.

McCarthy was speaking at the digital press conference following his naming as Coach of the Month, and Mothwa as player.

When asked by iDiski Times during the presser about each other’s achievements, McCarthy’s answer left the goalkeeper a little emotional.

“There’s tears in my eyes, I’d like to thank coach [Benni] for everything he’s just said,” Mothwa said at the presser.

The former Baroka and Chippa United goalkeeper, who joined AmaZulu just before McCarthy did, was equally complimentary about his coach.

“But I’m happy for him for winning the award also, second time in a row,” Mothwa continued.

“So I think there’s still more for him to come, because of the way we work, and the way he tells us to work is a good thing that we have to do each and every month.

“And he’s going to be the best coach, best coach this season, for everything that he told us, and everything that we implement, that he wants us to implement in the field of play.

“So there’s still more awards for him to come this coming two months, I think. But with us playing good, he’s going to be the next best coach of the month again now.”
