Mothwa – Everyone Is Hungry For Success

Bafana Bafana’s captain at the Cosafa Cup, Veli Mothwa says the team is ready to get going against Botswana this afternoon.

Bafana take on Botswana in Gqeberha at 5pm today but they have been dealt a few blows ahead of this tournament, with a number of players unavailable.

On Monday, matters got tougher when head coach for the tournament Helman Mkhalele and goalkeeper coach Lucky Shiburi had to go into isolation after Covid-19 testing. With Mkhalele not be on the bench, assistant Morena Ramoreboli, will have to lead the team.

But Mothwa says while there have been disruptions, the mood in the camp is fine.

“No, everything’s fine,” he told SAFA media.

“We’re ready for the war that is there by Cosafa, our first game with Botswana so the mood is okay in camp and then everyone is hungry for success.”

For many of the players this will be their first Cosafa Cup and Mothwa says the players are excited.

“The players are excited to play this tournament and most of the squad when you check, It’s gonna be the first time we play a Cosafa Cup,” Mothwa continued.

“So we’re excited and now we are ready to to hustle for everything that we want. So I think the mood is high and the spirit is okay, and with the nation behind us, we’re gonna do okay.”
