Following the announcement of their sponsorship deal of the national women’s league, SAFA have confirmed the prize money for the new Hollywoodbets Super League.
The winner of the 2020/2021 competition will walk away with prize money of R2 million rand, while the runners-up will take home R1 million.
This was confirmed at a press conference held at SAFA house on Tuesday afternoon.
SAFA had announced the new sponsor on Sunday already, but confirmed all the details of the sponsorship deal on Tuesday.
“For the first time, the National Women’s League has a commercial partner,” SAFA President Danny Jordaan said at Tuesdays’ launch.
“This investment will further help us to strengthen the clubs in order to accelerate the growth and development of professional women’s football in our country.”
“To Hollywoodbets, we welcome you as a partner. Thank you very much, this is a great day for us, for the players, for women’s football in South African.”
“We are really excited about this collaboration which we think is definitely a game changer.”
