Ncikazi Defends Peprah

Orlando Pirates co-caretaker coach Mandla Ncikazi has called for patience with the club’s new signing Kwame Peprah.

The Ghanaian striker is yet to score a goal for the club after he playing nine games since he joined the Soweto giants in August this year.

However, Ncikazi praised Peprah’s impact, saying he has contributed a lot for the team in the striking department so far, despite him not netting on the scoresheet.

“The South African game is not like any African game, he has been playing in Ghana in their league. Any foreign international needs adaptation, you can count in any team,” Ncikazi told reporters when asked about the Ghanaian striker’s progress.

“I still have to see an international player that will come from his country and adapt immediately for the period that he has spent in our club.

“You can see the progress that he’s making, we would love him to score, but I think he has contributed better. Remember that in the previous match we took out, in this match he played the match insightful, defenders don’t like the type of striker that he is.

“But obviously if the striker is not scoring he must give an assist, but again he contributes so well, in set plays, and I’m hopeful very shortly he is going to score.”

Peprah netted 12 goals in 32 games for King Faisal in Ghana last season, which earned him his transfer to the Buccaneers.

He has another chance to get on the scoresheet when the Sea Robbers will face TS Galaxy on Saturday.
