Golden Arrows Head Coach Mandla Ncikazi says it’s not the best time to play Orlando Pirates, especially on the back of their Soweto derby win.
Arrows host Pirates in a DStv Premiership match at Sugar Ray Xulu today at 5pm.
Ncikazi says January has been tough on his squad, but he is still positive they can get a good result.
Pirates are 4th on the log on 25 points, while Arrows are 3 points behind them, in 6th place.
“Another tough match is awaiting us again, against a highly confident Pirates,” Ncikazi said ahead of the game.
“It’s a bad time to play such an encounter, on the back of their good win against Kaizer Chiefs.”
“The January football month has been very challenging on our team, losing so many of our players for different reasons, considering the fact that we don’t have a big squad. We hardly change our team and I’m praying that the mileage that they’ve gathered this month doesn’t affect the team negatively on Tuesday.”
“The spirit in our camp is good after our come from behind win against Maritzburg.”
“One thing I am sure of is the players will give their best as always, and I wish and hope their best is good enough to give us a positive result.”
