Ncikazi – It’s Important To Score An Away Goal

Orlando Pirates co-caretaker coach Mandla Ncikazi says his team will have to play an adaptive football to get positive results in Liberia.

The Buccaneers travelled to West Africa to face the Champions of Liberia, LRPC Oilers in the first leg of the final play-off before the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Ncikazi, though, says the condition in Liberia could not be the excuse from the players, as they know it’s important to win the game away from home.

“Long journey, but this is African Championship, we are here trying to adapt to the conditions, not easy conditions,” he told the club’s media department.

“The status of the field is the worst that I’ve seen, not complaining. I think the players are aware that it’s important to score when you play African Championship away.

“It’s important to have a goal, even better if we win, we are going to try and do that and adapt to this condition, small field, very bumpy, we have to play the adaptation game and then suit to the conditions, but it’s important that we win and score goal.”

The two teams meet at Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex at 18:00.
