Judas Moseamedi had a chance for Maritzburg in the 22nd minute, but his shot from a tight angle was comfortably saved by Washington Arubi. On the end Marcel Engelhardt was alert two minutes later, as he denied Lerato Lamola’s headed attempt.

Clayton Daniels had a great chance in the 28th minute, but Arubi got a hand to his powerful effort from in front of goal, and deflected it over.

Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo forced a good save out of Engelhardt in the 38th minute, who made another good save to deny Thabo Rakhale within the next minute.

The German keeper made another routine save in the 40th minute, before the ball swung to the other end of the pitch where Arubi was on hand to deny Thabiso Kutumela. At halftime it remained goalless.

Moseamedi had a chance at the start of the second half, but his shot-come-cross went across the face of the goal and out.

Thabo Mnyamane went close in the 64th minute, as he ran onto a good through ball from Rakhale, but his shot was off target. Two minutes later Ndlondo had a very good opportunity for the home team, but his attempt to lob a shot lacked power, and Engelhardt gathered easily.

But a minute later he got it right, Ndlondlo’s effort from the edge of the area was out of Engelhardt’s reach, and TTM were in the lead.

Fares Hachi tried a long range effort in the 73rd minute, but Arubi was able to punch clear.

Dylan Kerr’s team were able to hold on for the victory and move up 3 places on the tables.
