Nkosingiphile Ngcobo is looking to build on his promising start to the season, when Kaizer Chiefs take on Swallows at the Dobsonville Stadium tonight.
Swallows are currently second on the DSTV Premiership table, while Chiefs are 3 points behind in eleventh spot.
Chiefs will be looking to get back to winning ways, and Ngcobo says they were disappointed with the draw on the weekend against Golden Arrows, and they should have won the game.
“I felt we were unlucky against Arrows. We were supposed to win the game, but we played a draw, we might not have been clinical enough in front of goal, but these are things we can improve on. I know we will,” Ngcobo told the club’s website.
Ngcobo says he doesn’t mind the attention he gets on the field, and in fact it motivates him.
“It gives me positive energy if the opponents are focused on me, I don’t put myself under pressure by overthinking anything. I stay focused and will continue to go out and play for the team and the badge.”
Ngcobo says he is enjoying working under Gavin Hunt, but feels he has more to offer.
“I have enjoyed my football since the league started and have also enjoyed doing and implementing what the coach asks of me. I do feel I need to be more effective by creating and scoring more goals.”
The 21-year-old says Chiefs won’t be taking Swallows for granted.
“We expect them to come out and attack. We know they are also strong at the back. They have conceded one goal this season and if we apply ourselves well, we will be able to get the win. I am confident of that,”
