Nomvethe: What Bafana Need To Do

South African Football Legend Siyabonga Nomvethe is confident that Bafana Bafana will qualify for AFCON 2021.

Molefi Ntseki’s boys take on the small Island nation Sao Tome and Principe in two back-to-back qualifiers where Bafana will look to collect all six points in order to climb up in Group C.

South Africa also received a huge boost in the build up to these games as the Island nation requested that the return leg of this match be played in South Africa. In essence, on Friday the 13 November, South Africa will host the visitors in Durban, with the return leg scheduled to be played in Port Elizabeth on Monday.

PSL’s highest ever goalscorer and Bafana Legend, Siyabonga Nomvethe, has sent the boys a positive message and is optimistic that the team will do well.

“I wish the team good luck, the boys will need to work hard in order to qualify and I believe that they will not disappoint us. They will complete the job. Collecting three points at home is very important. The boys need to carry the nation and help us qualify for AFCON.” He told iDiski Times.

Ghana lead Group C with 6 points from two games, while Sudan and South Africa are tied on three points each. Sao Tome are yet to register any points or goals. The top two will advance to the African Cup of Nations next year.
