Phumlani Ntshangase says that everyone at Maritzburg United is trying to work together to change the fortunes at the club.
Maritzburg are currently 15th on the DStv Premiership table, and on Saturday they face 7th placed TS Galaxy away at at the Mbombela Stadium.
Ntshangase says that after a few days off, the team are now focussed and ready for the game, but he knows it won’t be easy away against Owen Da Gama’s in-form side.
“Ja, it’s not easy, as you know where we are,” Ntshangase told the club’s media department.
“But we trying by all means to work hard as players with the technical staff, which is the coaches, and everyone that is behind us and so we trying, we working, we’re trying to work together, we’re trying to understand whatever the coach is trying to implement into us and also that we can take that into the field.”
“So we have been very focused since yesterday, you know, after like a few days off we got. The coach tried to give us some time off, relax and try and get more focused for the game on Saturday.
“They are a strong team, a very strong defensive team, strong midfield, strong defenders, and very like skillful players, pacy players on the left and right. So it’s not an easy team to play against. I don’t think there is an easy team to play against in our league now because all the teams are improving season by season.”
“So if you’re a team like yourself, you also need to be very aware of everyone and make sure that you prepare well. So we also preparing because they’re not an easy team to play, especially away from home.”
“It’s very difficult to win, like as the seasons go by, because the teams are getting stronger and stronger at home. So they are a good team, a strong team, and we are aware of that, so we’ll prepare and try to do our best to, to come with a point, or to get the three points.”
