Speaking ahead of their mid-week game against TS Galaxy, Kaizer Chiefs striker Samir Nurkovic says they need to respect their opponent, but they need to focus on themselves first.
Chiefs beat Chippa United 3-1 in Gqeberha on Saturday, and are third on the DStv Premiership table.
Nurkovic is confident that if they can perform like they did against Chippa, they will get the desired result when they host Galaxy on Tuesday.
“Obviously we have to respect every opponent,” Nurkovic told the club’s media department.
“Today everybody’s playing football and the football is getting better and better each year.
“Everything is on the higher level, like I said, we have to respect every opponent, but we have to look just at ourselves and at our performance.
“And if we perform like we perform yesterday against Chippa then everything will be fine.
“We just have to continue with the same fighting spirit, respect everybody and give the best possible play on the field”
