ODG – We Need To Give Everyone A Chance

Having only signed one player during the recent transfer window, TS Galaxy coach Owen De Gama feels that it wasn’t the time to make a lot of new signings.

Da Gama took over the Galaxy job in January, and he explains that since he’s been in charge, a number of players have been injured.

The former Highlands Park coach says it would have been unfair on the current players to make wholesale changes, as he felt he needed to give everyone an opportunity.

Pogiso Sanoka was their only acquisition,. the former Maritzburg United defender signing with the club for two years.

“I had to come in and give everybody an opportunity,” Da Gama told the club’s website.

“When I arrived there were some injuries. Given Msimango was out injured. We were looking to see if we can strengthen that area. There were also still other players like Figo (Justice Figuareido) that were out with injuries. Karabo Tshepe is another one who was out with an injury. They haven’t even featured as yet.”

“It was going to be unfair to bring players for the sake of just bringing out players.”

“We’ve got to take what we have here and make the most out of it. We need to give everyone a chance.”
