Chippa United have suspended head coach Gavin Hunt with immediate effect after their worst ever start to a DStv Premiership season.
The Chilli Boys started life with three games unbeaten in the 2021/22 campaign under Hunt which brought about a renewed sense of optimism under the four-time league winner.
However, no wins since the opening game has left the club reeling in a relegation dog-fight just 10 games into the season.
The club has now confirmed Hunt has is on a ‘precautionary suspension’ pending an internal investigation of the poor results of late.
Veteran midfielder Kurt Lentjies has been appointed as the caretaker coach in Hunt’s absence and will be assisted by Siyabulela Gwambi.
