Maritzburg United have announced the signings of Ali Meza, Bradley Cross and Kwame Peprah.
The Team of Choice have confirmed the three signings on Thursday, with Meza and Cross joining the club as free agents, while Peprah completed a loan deal, as reported by iDiski Times.
Peprah’s move comes as a surprise after the Buccaneers rejected bids from Al Ahli Tripoli for his services in the off-season as well as a loan approach from Cape Town City.
He made just six appearances in all competitions for Pirates this season, starting just one match, and will now reunite with former Bucs co-head coach Fadlu Davids.
Cross had been on trial at Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport after his contract with Newcastle United came to an end in July 2022.
The former Black Aces and Bidvest Wits youth player moved to Germany in 2018 where he played for FC Schalke 04’s youth team before joining Newcastle United in England where he played in and captained the U23 team. Â
Meanwhile, Meza returned to South Africa in the beginning of January, as reported by this publication, after a stint with Bolivian side Always Ready between January and June 2022. He was already on the books of Maritzburg between October 2020 and January 2022.
Before his first reign with the Team of Choice, Meza won two Premier Soccer League titles and one Telkom Knockout trophy with Mamelodi Sundowns.
