Former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Ricardo Nascimento has joined Royal AM after six years at Chloorkop.
The DStv Premiership champions bid farewell to the Brazilian defender who featured 139 times in all competitions over six seasons, scoring 17 goals.
However this past season, after returning from injury, he featured in just six games, with only three starts.
Rulani Mokwena had confirmed that the club had offered him an administrative role, but Nascimento wanted to continue to play.
On Thursday, Royal AM announced the arrival of the Brazilian, who was unveiled by president Shaun Mkhize.
“Guys, I have yet another surprise for you,” she said in a video on the club’s Facebook page.
“I’m trying to make sure that Royal AM is strengthened. I started with the wingers, I went to the strikers and now I’m coming to the core, strengthening my defence – Nascimento.”

Nascimento had joined Sundowns in 2016 and during his time with the club he won four Premiership titles, as well as a Telkom Knockout trophy, the Nedbank Cup, the CAF Champions League, and CAF Super Cup.
Masandawana have brought in Bolivian Erwin Saveerda, and Nascimento’s exit freed up a foreign registration slot.
