Jan Olde-Riekerink says that he expects a challenging game against Bloemfontein Celtic, when Cape Town City host Siwelele in the DSTV Premiership on Sunday.
Olde-Riekerink says that Celtic have showed by qualifying for the MTN8 Final, just what good form they are in at the moment.
“Yah, Bloemfontein qualified for the MTN8, they play Pirates, and I think it is a team that performs very well at this moment,” Olde Riekerink said.
“It will be for us a very challenging game.”
“They will come full strength I think, I think the final is too far away for this game to be influenced by it, so they will be a team that are more or less preparing for that final, but for them it’s a very good test, but on the other hand it is a very good opportunity to get the points for the league.”
Having been in isolation for the international period, after positive Covid-19 tests, captain Thamsanqa Mkhize and Abbubaker Mobara re-joined their teammates this week at training.
“Yah, first of all, that was very unlucky for them, if you are selected for the national team, but cannot travel because of Covid. We try to take every precaution to not let the players get infected by each other, or by others, but still it happens everywhere in the world.”
“So they came back this week, they were tested negative and they joined the group, but of course the virus is not for everybody the same, so we have to make it more individual how they progress this week.”
