Cape Town City Coach Jan Olde Riekerink says they are motivated for a tough two games against Chippa United, starting on Sunday in the Nedbank Cup.
After the cup game at he Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, City will play Chippa three days later at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium in the DStv Premiership.
Olde Riekerink says they have not prioritised either game, and are equally motivated for both of the matches.
“So we will face a very special five days because we will visit Chippa for the competition and for the cup,” Olde Riekerink said.
“We don’t have any priority in which game we have to win or to draw to lose because the league is as important as the Nedbank Cup. We play the Nedbank Cup to to win it and not just to compete and then after a few games you out of the cup, so I think that that’s our also our main focus.”
“So the first game inthe big stadium and we will be very, very motivated, as motivated also to get the three points from the [league] competition.”
“We played the home game 1-1, it was not an easy game. So I know it’s a tough, tough opponent for us.”
“And also for us, it’s important to note that the moment we come back, two days later, we play another game against Stellenbosch, so we really have to focus on how to use the whole squad, to be fit in all the three matches. But most important is that that our focus is on getting to the next round and getting the three points.”
