Ouaddou On ‘Difficult’ Title Race

Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou says the 2025/26 Betway Premiership title race is a good advertisement for the ‘best league in Africa.’

This comes after his charges walloped Golden Arrows 5-0 at the Orlando Amstel Arena on Tuesday night to stay second behind Mamelodi Sundowns with two points separating the sides.

Relebohile Mofokeng and Oswin Appollis grabbed braces while Abafana Bes’thende goalkeeper Edward Maova turned the ball into his own net for the rout.

Ouaddou admitted that he likes how interesting the title race is which is exciting for the fans and that they will keep fighting till the end of the campaign.

“Look, it’s difficult you know. We have two teams now fighting,” the Moroccan-French said on SuperSport TV.

“I think it’s very good for the South African league – for me, I always say that it’s the best in Africa.

“So, the fans deserve to have this race until the end, to have interest because if there is no interest in football, people lose it and they are not interest anymore.

“So, yeah it’s good we’re giving tough time for the team.

“Let’s see what happens at the end of the season. Until the last second we will be here.”
