Josef Zinnbauer has named his Orlando Pirates starting line-up for today’s CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final first leg match against Raja Casablanca at the Orlando Stadium.
It will be a big game for Zinnbauer and his team, as they face the tournament’s favourites in the Moroccans.
Raja breezed through the group stages winning all six games and in fact, they did not concede a single goal in those matches. If they were to hold Pirates to nil today, they would equal Zamalek’s 2019 record of seven consecutive games without conceding.
Pirates suffered only one defeat in their group, in their final game away against Nigeria’s Enyimba, but they also only won two of their group games as they finished second in their group, behind Enyimba on the head-to-head rule.
Pirates and Raja have met before, but that was 24 years in the group stages of the CAF Champions League. Raja won both those games, 2-1 in South Africa, and 1-0 in Morocco.
The starting line-ups:
Orlando Pirates: Sandilands, Nyauza, Hlatshwayo, Sam, Jooste, Motshwari, Mabaso, Ndlovu, Pule, Makaringe, Hotto
Raja Casablanca: Zniti, Ngoma, Benhalib, Haddad, Arjoune, El Wardi, Jbira, Rahimi, Hadhoudi, Ngita, Madkour
