Pirates Star Opens Up On Hijacking Incident

Orlando Pirates winger Vincent Pule has opened up about his hijacking ordeal saying he is grateful to have received support from the club and his family.

Pule was hijacked earlier this year and kept in the boot of his car for hours and was lucky to live to tell the story.

The incident also happened while the player was battling an injury that kept him out of action for most of last season and the beginning of the current DStv Premiership term.

Pule who returned to playing two months ago said in Edition 134 of the newspaper that he has come to make peace with the fact that crime can happen to anyone.

The 31-year-old also reveals that he put in the work to get to a better mental state by seeing and speaking to someone about the ordeal.

“I think as a human being you must make sure that… things can happen, things can happen to anyone,” said Pule.

“If it doesn’t happen to you, who else would you point to say it must happen to them? I think these things happen, it’s a sad moment it could happen to anyone.

“I had to make sure that I recovered from it, speak to someone to make sure that this thing gets away to make sure that you do rehab and make sure that you come back inside the field.

“So if you’re not strong enough if you don’t believe that you’re going to come back, if you don’t believe that these things do come to pass, I think you’re going to have a problem.

“So for me, it was making sure that I become stronger because this moment makes you believe that these things, they do come and pass,

“So you just have to make sure that your head is in the right space to make sure that you do recovery, you do rehab so that you can make sure that you get back inside the field.”
