Orlando Pirates picked up a comfortable 3-0 away win in the CAF Confederation Cup, while Swallows and AmaZulu drew 0-0 in Sunday’s only DStv Premiership game.
Swallows 0-0 AmaZulu
Swallows and AmaZulu played to a goalless draw at the Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
While there were no goals in the first half and just a few clear cut chances, the match didn’t lack in action as both teams put in a good effort.
Swallows perhaps had the better chances, but the only efforts on target were long range efforts.
It was much of the same in the second half, and in the end neither team could find a winner.
Swallows remain unbeaten now after 15 games.
Jwaneng Galaxy 0-3 Orlando Pirates
Pirates picked up a comfortable away win in Botswana, beating Galaxy 3-0 to have one foot into the group stages of the Confed Cup.
After taking control of the game early on, Pirates went into the lead in the 32nd minute, Thulani Hlatshwayo heading in Deon Hotto’s corner.
It was to be the only goal of the first half, as the South Africans held the advantage at the break.
Just before the hour mark Linda Mntambo made it 2-0, and moments later Jean-Marc Makusu made it three.
A good first leg win for Pirates. The second leg in South Africa will be played next weekend.
